Would you look back on your life and regret it?
The best advice that I was ever given was, "If you gave up now, would you look back on your life and regret it?"
There are many times that we feel like throwing in the towel. Life gets hard. Life gets messy. Sometimes the thought of scraping it all and starting over fresh seems like the right answer because it is easier and not as painful.
However, that second part of that advice got me,"...would you look back on your life and regret it?". You have the power RIGHT NOW to control how your story will play out. What are you going to read about when you are looking back. Be an active participant in your narrative- nay, be the director!
Yes, it might not go the way that you wanted. You can then be comforted in knowing that you did everything that you could. You will never be haunted by the dreaded, "what if I only...". You might look back and think, "It didn't go as planned, but I did everything in my power and I don't have any regrets."
You can mourn a plan not going as scripted. Knowing you did everything in your power to live the life you want is empowering! You can collect that experience and knowledge along the way. Maybe that failure will make you appreciate something new. It could also point you in a better direction. OR it could work out. There is only one way to know for sure and that is to give it everything you've got!
